Macromolecule aggregation nylon bearing is a type of bearing material that has superior properties compared to traditional bearing materials. Some of its key properties include high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, resistance to impact loads, good self-lubrication with low friction coefficient, wide operating temperature range, low water absorption and oil swelling, high PV value, compatibility with various lubricants (oil, water, grease), good chemical stability, and non-toxicity to humans.
Because of its excellent mechanical properties, macromolecule aggregation nylon bearing has been widely used in the marine industry for applications such as stern tube bearings (water lubricated, oil lubricated), rudder bearings (water lubricated, grease lubricated), intermediate bearings (oil lubricated), and variable pitch propellers (pitch adjustment sliders, deck machinery, etc.).

Design and installation of Macromolecule Polymerization Nylon Bearing:
The structure adopts a cylindrical shape.
The recommended minimum wall thickness formula is S = 0.0435D + 6.5mm, where D is the calculated diameter of the shaft (in millimeters).
Bearing length: a. Oil lubricated stern bearings: L/D = 2:1 b. Water lubricated stern bearings: L/D = 4:1 c. Leg bearings for water lubrication with working pressure P < 0.55N/mm2: L/D = 2:1 (or refer to the requirements of various classification societies) d. Rudder bearings: L/D = 1.2-1.8
Design specific pressure: P = 7N/mm2 (or refer to the requirements of various classification societies).
Cooling water flow rate (for stern bearings only): Q (liters per minute) Q ≥ 16D, where D is the diameter of the leg bearing (in decimeters).
Bearing outer diameter = shaft housing inner diameter + interference fit. Bearing inner diameter = shaft diameter + interference shrinkage + minimum running clearance + thermal clearance + water swelling clearance.
The stern bearing must be processed with a flow groove.
The bearing is installed using the cryogenic shrink fit method, which uses CO2 as the cooling medium.
